Are your Kafe Balos Project (A.K.A. – Kopi Luwak) civet beans real or fake?

We are proud to say that all Kafe Balos beans pass this test with a 100%! What are some ways to determine if the beans are authentic or fake? There are a few common ways. First is fragrance. Just smell the green beans of Kafe Balos. Real beans will have a leafy smell; fake beans will have a rice-like smell. The second thing to look for is uniformity. Real beans are more uniform in size than fake beans. Another thing to take note of is the shape. The shape of a real civet bean is quite good and even, they have less broken structures. Lastly, the taste test! The aroma of real Balos is really stronger than ordinary coffee. It is a full-bodied, syrupy, earthy and nutty beverage. The aroma and taste of fake civet coffee is completely different. Real Kafe Balos is less acidic in nature. One can test its originality by giving a cup of Balos to ulcer patients. Real civet coffee is smooth to the stomach and doesn’t cause any sort of irritation.
